Habitat for Humanity
Our Adams County Habitat for Humanity involvement enables area low income families to purchase their own homes even though their income is too low to qualify for a conventional bank loan. GPC has been a Covenant Church with Habitat for 25 years. Those chosen to be Habitat home owners must help build their new home (called “sweat equity”) along with the Habitat volunteers or help in the construction of another’s home. Counseling on family finances, budgeting and other skills are provided to assure successful home ownership.

Carpenter’s Gift
Carpenter’s Gift is our annual venture in which church members spend a Saturday together repairing and fixing up the home of an area low income homeowner. Carpentry, painting and general labor are provided by members of GPC.

Mission Bright Star
Mission Bright Star purchases Christmas gifts for the children of inmates at Adams County Prison and holds a Christmas party for the children in which they hear the message of God’s love for them. Two Christmas gifts are provided for each child, a toy and an item of clothing, which have been suggested by the child’s family. These gifts are purchased, wrapped and returned to the church so they can be delivered to the children before Christmas.

Scofield School in Kenya
We contribute financially to support the Scofield school in Kenya which feeds, houses, clothes, and educates over 100 children each year. Money donated goes to food, clothes, teacher and staff salaries, bedding, toiletries, school supplies, and building supplies, as well as special projects such as water wells, solar power, and indoor plumbing.
